SIEL

Presentation

The main mission of the laboratory's electronic instrumentation department (SIEL) is to provide technical assistance to members of the laboratory in the fields of electronics and instrumentation. More specifically, the department is responsible for the control/command and data acquisition aspects of the laboratory's various experimental set-ups. For the design and production of complete experimental set-ups, SIEL works closely with SERM as part of the PME platform.

Design

The architecture of the systems is designed according to the specifications of the researcher/applicant. The associated production plans are then drawn up using software specific to the fields, such as Altium Designer for electronic board design, WinRelais for electrical schematic design, Dassault SolidWorks for mechanical design, etc.

Production

The systems are assembled in our electronics workshop. We have at our disposal, among other things, a reflow oven and an SMD component placement station for the production of electronic boards, two 3D printers (one FDM and one SLS) for the production of electronic enclosures, etc.

Programming

The systems produced are then fully programmed to meet the needs expressed. To do this, we master the programming of different modules, such as microcontrollers in C language, PLCs in function block diagrams, as well as the man-machine interface on PCs using the G language on LabVIEW virtual instrumentation software.
