SERM

Presentation

SERM's mission is to carry out the mechanical part of the experimental set-ups requested by the research staff. It proposes and implements a solution tailored to the needs expressed, demonstrating responsiveness and adaptability in order to provide a quality service.

Design office

The Design Office is responsible for dimensioning and designing mechanical assemblies (using Autodesk Inventor CAD software). It provides customers with digital mock-ups from which it draws up design and manufacturing plans.

Machining

The machine shop is responsible for producing the mechanical parts and assemblies designed by the Design Office. To do this, it has a fleet of 8 conventional and numerically controlled machine tools. In particular, SERM has a numerically controlled lathe and a vertical machining centre equipped with a 4th continuous axis and an Ultra High Speed spindle (UGV 50,000 rpm).

Boiler making-welding

The task of the boiler-making and welding workshop is to shape metals and assemble parts by welding. It uses the TIG welding process and oxyacetylene brazing. For metal shaping, the workshop has a press, a rolling machine and a folding machine, enabling it to manufacture all types of tanks to order.
