Experimental Assembly Platform

The Plateforme of experimental set-up turnkey design and construction of experimental set-ups. The PME platform draws on the technical and human resources of the SERM and SIEL departments.

Mission

Based on specifications drawn up by the applicant, the SME platform designs and manufactures the desired experimental prototype.
The design process begins with an exchange of views with the customer, and culminates in a schematic diagram.
For the mechanical dimension of the device, a digital mock-up is created using Computer-Aided Design, for validation by the customer. Manufacturing drawings are then created for the platform's two machinists and boilermaker-welders. All the components manufactured are then installed on a chassis which houses all the components of the experimental assembly developed.
In parallel, based on the specifications, the SME platform also carries out the design and electrical installation, from the sensor/actuator to the dedicated control program on a computer workstation. This assembly, integrated into the prototype chassis, results in the creation of a tested and operational experimental set-up.

Skills

Mechanical design, static and dynamic analysis, conventional and CNC turning and milling, Computer-Aided Manufacturing, TIG welding and oxyacetylene brazing. Electrical design (wiring diagrams), PLC programming and man-machine interface programming (LabVIEW).
