PROSEED
PROSEED : a new rapeseed and sunflower biorefinery
The PROSEED joint laboratory was created in 2014 by the industrial group Avril and the Laboratoire Réactions et Génie des Procédés (UMR 7274) to meet the challenges of producing new proteins for food and feed from rapeseed and sunflower meal.
More specifically, the primary aim of this partnership is to develop processes for the production of new protein materials, while taking into account the performance and environmental footprint of biorefinery operations.

Perspectives
PROSEED is currently working on five theses, some of which are part of the national "France 2030" plan. The aim is to lay the foundations for an innovative biorefinery dedicated to the valorization of rapeseed and sunflower proteins.
In the medium term, the laboratory's research could be extended to other plant protein sources, such as legumes, to meet the challenges posed by the transition to sustainable alternatives to animal proteins. PROSEED is thus positioned as a key player in the development of new protein ingredients, contributing to the challenges of food sovereignty and technological innovation in the agri-food sector.
